U.S. Marine Corps Lt. Col. Dean Damin, operations officer for Marine Corps Base Camp Blaz and native of Beaumount, Texas, holds the unit guidon as he participates in a 248-mile run as part of a celebration of the upcoming Marine Corps Birthday, while in the village of Tamuning, Guam, Nov. 8, 2023. The run began at the Southern Invasion Beach where Marines with the 1st Provisional Marine Brigade landed during the Battle of Guam on July 21, 1944.
