U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Maj. Daniel Soto, senior enlisted leader of Marine Corps Base Camp Blaz and native of New York, N.Y., passes the unit guidon to Maj. Sean Carroll, the supply officer of MCB Camp Blaz and native of Morehead City, N.C., during a 248-mile run as part of a celebration of the upcoming Marine Corps 248th Birthday while passing the village of Agat, Guam, Nov. 8, 2023. The run began at the Southern Invasion Beach where Marines with the 1st Provisional Marine Brigade landed during the Battle of Guam on July 21, 1944.
