Officer Candidates from the Illinois Army National Guard Officer Candidate School, Class 69-24, 2nd Battalion, 129th Regiment (Regional Training Institute), await further instruction Nov. 4 in Sparta. The focus of drill training centered around map reading and land navigation, as well as a 6-mile foot march.
“All of our training was extremely valuable,” said Officer Candidate Eduardo Serna. “We will be tested on land navigation, as well as have to complete a 9 and 12-mile ruck later in the course.
