Halina’s Forte, a 2-year-old filly ridden by Jockey Martin Garcia, earned this trophy with a victory in the 5th race at Churchill Downs Racetrack in Louisville, Ky., Nov. 5, 2023. The 5 1/2-furlong maiden contest, dubbed the Race for Survivors of the Fallen Military Heroes, was held in honor of family members who've lost loved ones in service to the United States. It was part of Survivor’s Day at the Races, an annual event hosted with assistance from the Kentucky National Guard that drew more than 700 family members from 18 states.
