Nepali soldiers use a previously drilled guide hole in the side of a training building to insert a camera with seismic detectors to precisely locate victims trapped inside by a simulated earthquake event at the Collapsed Structure Search and Rescue demonstration during the 2023 Nepal Disaster Response Exercise & Exchange (DREE) "Unity of Effort VI" in Chitwan, Nepal, Nov. 10, 2023. The 2023 Nepal DREE is part of the continued multilateral engagement of the United States Army Pacific (USARPAC) and the Government of Nepal (GON). The DREE is designed to grow and reinforce capacity through Table-Top Exercises (TTXs) and Field Technical Exercises (FTXs) that simulate reality, identify procedural gaps, and practice techniques required for efficient and collaborative response.
