Current and former Marne Soldiers from the 3rd Infantry Division and military attaches from across the globe salute the 3rd Infantry Division patch at the 3rd Infantry Division Memorial in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia, Nov. 21, 2023. The patch is made of three white stripes on a blue field. The three white stripes symbolize the three major operations in which the division participated during World War I. The blue field symbolizes the loyalty of those who placed their lives on the altar of self-sacrifice in defense of the American ideals of liberty and democracy. (U.S. Army photo by Pfc.
