A Soldier stands on a metal plate replacing a plywood plank in a concrete structure on Combat Outpost Meade. The metal, which can support a Soldier's weight, is much safer than the wood it replaced. It is just one of the many improvements, both for quality of life and safety, devised by Soldiers of Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault).
