Sergeant Christopher R. Contreras, a computer and telephone repairman, is currently deployed with Regimental Combat Team 7 to Helmand province, Afghanistan, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Contreras, a 26-year-old native of Novato, Calif., never passes up an opportunity to lead his Marines by example while serving as the assistant tech chief for RCT-7’s communication electronics maintenance section.
