U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Jacob Rigby, 20th Operations Support Squadron air traffic control (ATC) tower specialist and trainer, programs the simulator in the ATC tower at Shaw Air Force Base, Oct. 31, 2023. A trainer, usually a junior-enlisted airman who has completed their upgrade training, establishes the scenarios and alters them to suit the skill level of their trainee and provides feedback to the Airmen on what they did well and what they need to improve on before they conduct real-world missions.
