U.S. Army Capt. Joseph Chong, USARJ G2, works as OPFOR for Yama Sakura 85, he is excited to work with his multi-national counterparts and feels like YS85 is a unique opportunity to do just that, Camp Higashi-Chitose, Japan, Dec. 5, 2023. As a part of U.S. Army Pacific’s Operation Pathways, the 43rd iteration of the Yama Sakura exercise is the first U.S. Army, Japan Ground Self-Defense Force, and Australian Army command post exercise based in Japan.
