(December 14, 2023) – The first-in-class USS Virginia (SSN 774) transits the Thames River past the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Barque Eagle (WIX-327) and the city of New London, Conn. before returning to Naval Station New London in Groton, Conn., December 14. Virginia and crew operate under Submarine Squadron (SUBRON) FOUR and its primary mission is to provide attack submarines that are ready, willing, and able to meet the unique challenges of undersea combat and deployed operations in unforgiving environments across the globe.
