NAVAL STATION MAYPORT, Fla. (Jan. 5, 2023) - Cmdr. Shelby Nikitin (right), commanding officer, USS Thomas Hudner (DDG 116), is presented with the Bronze Star Medal by Medal of Honor recipient, Capt. Thomas G. Kelley (Ret.) during a change of command ceremony where Cmdr. Nikitin was relieved by Cmdr. Cameron Ingram, Jan. 5, 2024. Hudner returned from an eight-month deployment Jan. 4, 2024 as a part of the Gerald R. Ford Carrier Strike Group (CSG) to the U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Africa area of operations in support of theater security cooperation efforts and to defend U.S., allied, and partner interests.
