U.S. Marines and Fuzileiros Navais do Brazil (Brazilian Marines) discuss the integration of female recruits in current male training battalions during U.S. Marine Corps Forces, South’s Brazilian Recruit Assessment Jan. 16, 2024, at the Almirante Milcíades Portela Alves Instruction Center, Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. Marines from the U.S. Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, California, assessed the training processes and infrastructure of the Brazilian Marine Corps to aid in Brazil’s first group of female Marine Corps recruits. The integration will begin February 2024 and will create service opportunities that were previously closed to women.
