Maj. Joshua Rapp was promoted to Lt. Col. on January 17, 2024, during a ceremony at the Ashland Armory Headquarters of the 1st Battalion, 186th Infantry Regiment, 41st Infantry Brigade Combat Team of the Oregon Army National Guard. Brig. Gen. Eric J. Riley officiated the ceremony and administered the oath of office to the newly promoted Lt. Col. Rapp. Rapp's wife, Chief Warrant Officer 3 Klare Rapp, and daughters had the honor of affixing his new rank during the ceremony. Lt. Col. Rapp is a traditional civilian Soldier in the National Guard and is employed as an Estimator Project Manager with local company Knife River. He has deployed multiple times, including to Afghanistan, Iraq, and Kosovo. Lt. Col. Rapp is scheduled to take command of the 1st Battalion, 186th Infantry Regiment, in April of 2024. The ceremony marked a significant milestone in Lt. Col. Rapp's distinguished military career.
