U. S. Air Force Capt. Espen Earl practices a lumbar puncture on a mannequin during a training evolution in the Keesler Medical Center’s Simulation Lab on Jan. 17. Earl is an internal medicine student resident in his first year of residency. Keesler has five residency programs, including internal medicine, general surgery, advanced education, general dentistry, and nurse practitioner and physician assistant clinical rotations. Keesler’s residency program provides supervised clinical training, which allows residents to gain hands-on experience treating patients and managing medical cases. The program offers an invaluable opportunity to develop clinical skills and build confidence in their abilities as practitioners.
