Fort Belvoir Equal Opportunity Office hosted the Martin Luther King, Jr. birthday observance at the Community Center, Jan. 18. Guest speaker, Shirley Ginwright, is a life-long advocate for change and pointed out that much of what Dr. King had been peacefully protesting still remains unresolved. Her suggestion was that, "You are our Dr. King, because we have a responsibility to speak up and to stand up for what is right. And if we do not, the generation behind us - our grandchildren and our children - will be fighting the same battle 20 years from now."
