Josh Hudson, local singer and songwriter from Sandy Ridge, North Carolina, sings “That's why we stand,” the title song from his 2023 album and official song of Purple Heart Homes, at the revealing of the restoration of a North Carolina National Guard Veteran’s home in Statesville, North Carolina, Jan. 21, 2024. Military Makeover, a television series dedicated to honoring deserving military families, and Purple Heart Homes, a local military non-profit that improves Service-Connected Disabled Veterans and their families housing, renovated the home of U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Jason Bowman, a Raleigh native and soldier assigned to the NCNG’s Delta Company, 236th Brigade Engineer Battalion, 30th Armored Brigade Combat Team, who is recovering from parachute training injuries from 2022.
