Congratulations to our Commanding General, Brig. Gen. Earl C. Sparks, on your recent promotion in Kyle, Texas.
Brig. Gen. Sparks currently serves as the Commanding General of the 311th Expeditionary Sustainment Command, having assumed the role on July 15, 2023.
Commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Ordnance branch through the Reserve Officer Training Corps program at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 1993, Brig. Gen. Sparks holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the same institution. His academic achievements include a Master’s in Business Administration from California Coast University and a Master’s in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College.
Brig. Gen. Sparks has received numerous accolades for his outstanding service, including the Meritorious Service Medal with five oak leaf clusters, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and the Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal with five oak leaf clusters. His extensive list of awards also includes recognition for service in Southwest Asia, Afghanistan, and the Global War on Terrorism.
Beyond his military achievements, Brig. Gen. Sparks is a devoted family man, residing in Kyle, Texas, with his wife Debbie. His family includes three children, five stepchildren, and two grandsons. His career is marked by a legacy of leadership, dedication, and a steadfast commitment to excellence in service to his country
