Japan Ground Self-Defense Force Maj. Hajime Ishikawa, deputy commander of the 101st Signal Exchange Unit, meets with U.S. sailors and provides a tour of the build site where JGSDF soldiers are sculpting a full-size replica of Thailand's Wat Benchamabophit temple out of snow. More than 130 soldiers from the Japanese unit are working together to build the sculpture for the 64th Annual Sapporo Snow Festival, which kicks off Feb. 4, 2013. The sailors are from Naval Air Facility Misawa and are in Sapporo, on behalf of the base to build a snow sculpture for the festival. This year marks the 30th year that NAF Misawa has sent a delegation of sailors to Sapporo for the festival. (U.S. Navy photo by Senior Chief Mass Communication Specialist Daniel Sanford/Released)
