Cheryl Hansen was recognized by NHB/NMRTC Bremerton leadership for her third year assigned to the command's Health Promotion and Wellness Department.
Capt. Patrick Fitzpatrick, Naval Hospital Bremerton director, and Navy Medicine Readiness Training Command Bremerton commanding officer, presented Hansen with a command coin and heartfelt thanks.
As a Health Educator, Hansen has facilitated 161 virtual weight management classes, just in 2023 alone, ranging in size from five to fourteen participants.
Her classes have been so successful that several bariatric patients opted out of bariatric surgery due to her educational style and skills and many more shared significant weight loss results. Cheryl is also a former certified diabetes instructor and incorporates her knowledge of diabetes management into her training as an added benefit. The only patient complaint ever received about Cheryl was… the 16-week program she facilitates isn’t long enough (Courtesy photo).
