Staff Sgt. Stephen Hughes, a career counselor assigned to Fort Meade, and Col. Michael Sapp, Fort Meade garrison commander, receive the Retention Excellence Award from the U.S. Army Military District of Washington command team at Fort McNair, Washington, D.C., Feb. 20, 2024. The award recognizes the installation accomplishing their retention mission in all categories, resulting in a 168% retention rate.
