Dr. Lester Martínez-López, assistant secretary of defense for health affairs, outlined the latest Department of Defense traumatic brain injury and blast exposure research to the Senate Armed Services Committee on Feb. 28, 2024. Martínez was joined by Kathy Lee, director of the Warfighter Brain Health Initiative; and U.S. Navy Capt. (Dr.) Carlos Williams, director of the National Intrepid Center of Excellence. Blast overpressure is a major focus of the DOD Warfighter Brain Health Initiative.
