A channelized Mason Run moves through the grounds of Defense Supply Center Columbus after a recent moderate rain event in January 2024. The run, a tributary of nearby Big Walnut Creek straightened from its original course in the 1940s, is prone to flooding and erosion along its course. Adapting the dry detention basins into constructed wetlands will help alleviate these problems and allow the installation to be more climate resilient into the future. (Nicole Goicochea/DSCC)
