U.S. Air Force Maj. Gen. Constance Jenkins, Director of Logistics and Engineering, North American Aerospace Defense Command and U.S. Northern Command, met with leaders from the Ted Stevens Center for Arctic Security Studies on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, March 5, 2024. The purpose of Jenkins’ visit was to meet with staff and faculty from the School of Arctic and Climate Security Studies to discuss the development of a new Arctic Crisis Logistics course. The proposed course will focus on understanding the challenges of logistical operations in an Arctic environment with specific emphasis on infrastructure, environmental conditions and transportation in the Arctic region.
