Navy Environmental Preventive Medicine Unit (NEPMU) SEVEN, commemorated its 10th anniversary at U.S. Naval Station (NAVSTA) Rota, March 20. NEPMU SEVEN plays a vital role in environmental protection and preventive medicine initiatives. The unit was decommissioned in 2006 after serving the 6th Fleet and the European area of operations for nearly five decades. It was later recommissioned June 20, 2014, and today supports more than 67,000 Navy and joint expeditionary personnel across U.S. European Command (EUCOM) and U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) areas of responsibility. To celebrate NEPMU SEVEN held a commemorative ceremony where Officer in Charge, Cmdr. Chadwick Yasuda presented Letters of Appreciation to the unit’s partners and agencies across U.S. European Command EUCOM, AFRICOM, and The United States Central Command (CENTCOM), acknowledging their invaluable support in fulfilling the command's missions.
