OXON HILL, Md. (April 7, 2024) - Volunteers from the U.S. Navy's Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) get a special visit from the Washington Capitals mascot during the Sea-Air-Space Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) expo at the Gaylord National Hotel and Conference Center, Sunday. SSP volunteers educated expo goers on how STEM learning activities are connected to the real-world missions of commands like SSP, which is the Navy command responsible for the cradle-to-grave lifecycle of the submarine-launched ballistic missile system. Attendees had the opportunity to participate in hands-on science activities and experience interactive exhibits based on STEM concepts with more than 20 exhibitors from various Department of Defense service branches.
