ANSBACH,Germany (April 10, 2024) - While a media crew looks on, a construction team digs the first pipe trenches for U.S. Army Garrison Ansbach's (USAG) Pump and Treat facility on Katterbach Kaserne. The facility is the main part of the garrison's per- and polyfluorinated chemicals (PFAS) remediation efforts which will include not only the 21 measuring points within the U.S. Army footprint, but also measuring points within the city of Ansbach and the surrounding area. USAG Ansbach is a U.S. Army Power Projection Platform consisting of aviation, engineering, and artillery assets spread across nine kasernes in the heart of Middle Franconia, Germany.
