    Marine Rotational Force - Darwin

    U.S. Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Zacharia Stewart, a preventative medicine technician with Marine Rotational Force – Darwin 24.3, attaches a specimen cup to a Coriolis Micro-Microbial Air Sampler at Royal Australian Air Force Base Darwin, NT, Australia, April 24, 2024. The Coriolis Micro-Microbial Air Sampler was used to test for the air born bacteria Burkholderia pseudomallei, which can cause Melioidosis, for a study done in partnership with the Menzies School of Public Health. MRF-D 24.3 is part of an annual six-month rotational deployment to enhance interoperability with the Australian Defence Force and Allies and partners and provide a forward-postured crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific.
