The 2d Theater Signal Brigade Spotlight shines on U.S. Army Spc. Shakira Vega, Schools & Training Specialist, HQ Platoon, Alpha Company, 44th Expeditionary Signal Battalion-Enhanced.
As the Schools and Training Specialist for Alpha Company, Spc. Vega's dedication to the more than 80 Soldiers in the formation ensures that land is reserved for Alpha Company to conduct the required progressive training used to assess Scalable Network Node team deployment readiness.
Additionally, she processed enrollments of over 10 Service members to military schools, allowing them to improve on their career.
She also serves as the unit DTS clerk, reviewing all transactions submitted to ensure proper funding and readiness for missions as well as schools. Recently she reviewed and processed more than 15 approved requests for Soldiers supporting a myriad of units participating in U.S. Army Europe and Africa's Large Scale Exercise 2024 season.
