U.S. Air Force Chief Master Sgt. Chad W. Bickley, command chief of Air and Education Training Command, speaks at the AETC Fiesta reception, April 17, 2024, at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas. Every year, the AETC commander hosts this reception to kick off Fiesta San Antonio activities with civic leaders, community members and military members. The event featured displays and exhibits, along with demonstrations and performances by members of AETC units stationed across JBSA. Fiesta San Antonio started in 1891 as a one-parade event to honor the memory of the heroes of the Alamo and the Battle of San Jacinto. Today it’s a 10-day celebration featuring more than 100 events that feature music, food, sports, pageantry, military and patriotic observances, exhibits and parades.
