WASHINGTON, D.C. (May 9, 2024) Cmdr. Timothy J. Donahue, a Philadelphia native, poses for a photo with U.S. Navy Surgeon General Rear Adm. Darin Via and Joseph Caravalho, the president and CEO of the Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine, after being awarded as the 2024 Navy Hero of Military Medicine at the Washington National Cathedral. Donahue was recognized for his work as the trauma medical director at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, where he helped to spearhead the initiative to upgrade the military treatment facility to a Level II Trauma Center, the highest designation in the Navy.
