U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Roberto Fortunroca, an inventory management specialist with 3rd Reconnaissance Battalion, 3rd Marine Division, practices firefighting techniques using an electronic fire extinguisher during fire warden training on Camp Foster, Okinawa, Japan, May 9, 2024. Hosted regularly by Marine Corps Installations Pacific Fire and Emergency Services, the fire warden program is designed to provide commands with in-house representatives capable of identifying safety deficiencies on a daily basis. Through their innovation and excellence in fire prevention inspections, community outreach, public education programs and more, MCIPAC F&ES was nominated and selected as the 2023 Department of Defense Fire Prevention Program of the Year.
