FALLS CHURCH, Va. (May 13, 2024) In celebration of the 116th birthday of the U.S. Navy Nurse Corps, Capt. Kelley Fox, left, a Portland, Oregon native and Bureau of Medicine and Surgery (BUMED) reserve affairs officer, and Lt. Cmdr. Mark Knutson, a BUMED manpower analyst and Appleton, Wisconsin native, cut a cake May 13, 2024. The Navy Nurse Corps was established May 13, 1908, when President Theodore Roosevelt, signed the Naval Appropriations Bill.
