Cavanaugh, the commanding general of Fleet Marine Force, Atlantic, Marine Forces Command, Marine Forces Northern Command, center, and Lt. Gen. Karsten S. Heckl, commanding general of Combat Development Command and Deputy Commandant of Combat Development and Integration, visit a Norfolk, Va., shipyard and tour the USS Arlington, May 14, 2024. Scaliatine led the service members throughout the ship and explained the ships’ current modernization undertaking. Heckl's visit to the shipyard was to gain more understanding about how the Marine Corps can better assist the Navy and industry leaders modernizing amphibious ships.
