(From right) Lt. Gen. Maria Barrett, commander of U.S. Army Cyber Command, presents Sgt. Arthur Ring a challenge coin during the Cyber Yankee exercise on May 15, 2024, at Massachusetts Regional Training Institute, Joint Base Cape Cod, in Sandwich Mass. The information technology specialist from 136th Cyber Security Company, 54th Troop Command, New Hampshire Army National Guard, was recognized for exceptional service and dedication above and beyond fellow participants.
The 10th annual tactical-level Defensive Cyber Operations (DCO) exercise, held from 6-17 May, provided a unified exercise focused on building lasting partnerships between the military, public, and private sectors while evaluating a whole-of-government response to a significant cyber incident involving critical infrastructure and key resources. Participants worked together to perform incident response, threat analysis, and cyber defensive operations as “Blue” teams against a cyber offensive “Red” team, performing as multiple threat actors on a critical infrastructure enterprise network environment.
