Meet Spc. Jaron Terry, an HH-60M Crew Chief, assigned to the Combat Aviation Brigade, 1st Infantry Division, from Warrensburg, Missouri.
“I've always loved the Aviation industry, so I had to choose a helicopter profession.”
Terry says his job is important because “when a unit sends up a 9-line on the battlefield, they need to know that someone is coming to help them.” He also says it is a “blessing” to start as a Blackhawk maintainer and eventually become a crew chief.
Terry spent the past week with his HH-60M crew displaying an HH-60M Blackhawk at the ILA Airshow in Berlin, Germany.
“My favorite part [of ILA 24] is to see the different European aircraft and talk with their aircrews. It has been educational to learn about their capabilities and what their aircraft look like.”
ILA stands for innovation, and leadership in Aerospace. It is an international trade and airshow dedicated to the aerospace industry. It is one of the world’s largest and oldest airshows. Key features include conferences, seminars, networking opportunities, and airshow demonstrations.
Terry is currently stationed in Powidz, Poland supporting his unit’s mission to “assure and deter.”
