Medical staff from Aurora Medical Center-Summit’s emergency and trauma center and a crew member from a Wisconsin Army National Guard Black Hawk helicopter prepare to transfer a simulated patient to Aurora BayCare Medical Center in Green May, Wis., May 31 as part of a mass casualty exercise. The scenario called for a single Wisconsin Army National Guard Black Hawk crew to medically evacuate three victims critically injured by a building collapse. A Black Hawk can transport up to four litter-borne patients, as opposed to civilian air ambulances which carry only one patient. This training builds on prior collaboration between the Wisconsin Army National Guard and Aurora Health Care. Aurora Health Care photo
