NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support's Submarine & Carrier Operations Department hosted a special town hall onboard Naval Support Activity Mechanicsburg Tuesday, June 11, 2024. Guest speaker Bill Hoeft, undersea strategy fellow at Systems Planning & Analysis, delivered a presentation titled Threat Update: The Challenge Facing the Nation, the Navy, and U.S. Undersea Forces. Hoeft analyzed international alliances and aggressions, deterrence strategies, national defense spending, and historical submarine production and infrastructure. Hoeft previous served as the commanding officer on the USS Salt Lake City (SSN 716) and the executive assistant for the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations (OPNAV) Submarine Warfare Director.
