The CNR Scholarship Awards recognize students in grades nine through 12 for producing and presenting quality science and engineering projects and are given by the Office of Naval Research. The honors were distributed at the 2024 Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair in Los Angeles, California.
The winners of this year’s CNR Scholarship Awards are:
• Timucin Erbas (Acton, Massachusetts) — “Higher-Efficiency Altitude-Adaptive Dynamic Rocket Engine Nozzle”
• Hannah Jansen (Nokesville, Virginia) — “Impact of Toroidal Propeller Design on Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Acoustic Signature and Aerodynamic Performance”
• James Nagler (Garden City, New York) — “Project Vision: Assisted Navigation & Waypoint Positioning Through 3D Mapping”
• Isabella Pinto (West Richland, Washington) — “How Magnetically Suspended Tires Utilizing High-Temperature Superconductivity and Electromagnetism Creates the Most Eco-Friendly Vehicle”
• Daniel Williams (Newnan, Georgia) — “Zenith Soar X-4: Autonomous Drone for Autonomous Drone for Disaster Relief and Detection”
