In the early years after the end of the Second World War, the Women's Armed Services Integration Act of 1948 - 76 years ago - was implemented to allow women to serve as permanent members of the military.
Today, approximately one in five Navy personnel are women - as of December 2023, 20.09 percent - such as Lt. E.
