Dr. Richard O. Stroman, a U.S. Naval Research Laboratory engineer received the prestigious Department of Navy Dr. Delores M. Etter Emergent Engineer of the Year Award, June 12, during an awards ceremony hosted at the Pentagon. Stroman is recognized for conceiving and leading the development of the energy-focused mission-planning tool for unmanned air vehicles, called POTION that extends range and endurance by helping aircraft operators use energy intelligently.
