An Explosive Ordnance Technician (EOD) assigned to Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit FIVE (EODMU 5) lays wire between airport baggage handling equipment during an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) drill at Guam's A.B. Won Pat International Airport in May. In the drill, the team mobilized to respond to a simulated suspicious suitcase report. The drill required the team to practice crucial response safety procedures, conduct a detailed assessment of the suspicious object, and complete a simulated neutralizing of the training device.
EODMU 5 is a forward-deployed command based in Guam that provides mine countermeasures and joint expeditionary and special operations forces for missions within the Western Pacific and other areas as needed.
