The new 5th Bomb Wing (BW) commander's name is revealed the 5th Bomb Wing flagship B-52H Stratofortress during the change of command ceremony at Minot Air Force Base, North Dakota, June 28, 2024. Prior to assuming command of the 5th BW, Lamarand was the commander of the 2nd Operations Group, Barksdale Air Force Base, La, leading daily operations for the Air Forces's largest bomber group consisting of four operational squadrons, with over 560 personnel.
