    Close-up view of the Laser Ranging Retroreflector LRRR after deployment. Fused silica restroreflectors mounted in each of the 100 holes refect a laser beam back toward teh source at an Earth-based telescope. The wire angle and the bubble level to the right of the retroreflector block are preset for the selenodetic position of the landing site to guide the proper orientation during deployment. Images were taken by Astronauts Shepard and Mitchell during EVA 1 of the Apollo 14 mission. Original film magazine was labeled JJ, film type was S0168 High Speed Color Reversal, Interior/Surface, 60mm lens with a sun elevation of 12 degrees.
