Volunteers from the USO support soldiers during Annual Training at Camp Grayling, Mich., June 1-15, 2024.

During the 15-day Michigan Army National Guard Annual Training at Camp Grayling, volunteers from the USO came with a mission of their own - to boost spirits and morale. After nearly a year of construction, the USO reopened at Camp Grayling on June 12, 2024, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and community celebration. Volunteers from Camp Grayling and the local community painted while Ohio National Guard members laid concrete. The pavilion now boosts troop morale and hosts community gatherings, featuring upgraded interiors, new furniture, and renovated facilities. The USO’s reopening underscores the importance of maintaining morale and providing soldiers with spaces to relax and bond outside training activities. (U.S. Army National Guard photo by 2nd Lt.
