The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District's contractor, C.J. Mahan Construction Company, works to install shafts June 6, 2024, on the river bottom of Chickamauga Lake to anchor the upstream approach walls for the new navigation lock under construction. The Chickamauga Lock Replacement Project remains one of the most important current construction projects in the Corps of Engineers because it is so critical to the economy, commerce, and recreation in East Tennessee.
