142nd Force Support Squadron (FSS) Airman, Staff Sgt. Jacob Currie prepares food bins for guardsmen at Portland Air National Guard Base, Portland, Ore., on Aug. 3, 2024. The 142nd FSS recently acquired a mobile kitchen, known as an ESPEK (Expandable Single Pallet Expeditionary Kitchen) which enabled FSS Airmen to train on the new equipment by preparing lunch for wing guardsmen. Babington Technology invented the ESPEK, which allows for faster assembly time, thirty minutes by four people, and can sustain feeding 550 troops in a field environment.
