Lt. Col. Robert Burke, commander of the 1st Squadron, 152nd Cavalry Regiment, and Command Sgt. Maj. James Martin uncase their unit's colors during a transfer of authority ceremony on April 17. The Indiana National Guard unit assumed responsibility of the force-protection mission that once belonged to the 1st Battalion, 143rd Field Artillery, a California National Guard unit, prior to their transition. "We trained just for this mission that lies before us. We're ready to execute and take over from our National Guardsmen from California," said Burke.
