Aaron McCarthy, a Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) short term individual augmentee Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) technician, recites the oath of enlistment during a promotion ceremony in Guadalcanal, Solomon Islands, Aug. 7, 2024. McCarthy had the unique opportunity to promote on the 82nd anniversary of the Guadalcanal Campaign while in the Solomon Islands working to recover the fallen from the Battle of Guadalcanal with DPAA.
