Jeorg Jost, a staff member with the German Army Liaison from Fort Sill, Oklahoma, provides feedback to Cadet Christian Gyurcsan, with the University of New Hampshire Army ROTC, as he assesses targets after firing an M17 pistol during the German Armed Forces Badge for Military Proficiency (GAFPB) on September 7, 2024, at the Regional Training Site, in Center Strafford, N.H. The German Armed Forces Badge for Military Proficiency or, in German, “Das Abzeichen für Leistungen im Truppendienst” is a decoration of the Bundeswehr, the armed forces of the Federal Republic of Germany. Allied soldiers of any rank may also be awarded the badge. This is one of the few approved foreign awards and requires those seeking the badge to complete a swim test, fitness assessment, marksmanship qualification and foot march.
